Sand’s photography aims to showcase the bodies that don’t get sufficient representation in the media.
“I'm Sand and I'm a 30-year-old non-binary french photographer. Photography has helped me a lot to accept my body and who I am which is why today I photograph others in a process of “self-love”. I try to bring the most benevolent gaze possible to the people I photograph and to their bodies. I also think representation is very important. You have to see images of people who look like us. Today's society means that when you grow up you can only recognize yourself in movies and commercials if you are cis, white, and thin. Until there is enough change at this level, I hope to be able to show a little more diversity on my small scale.”
